In a great Blogpost, Walletpop.com made a list of the Top 25 Things Vanishing from America
Adapt or Die
Just like the horse carriage, the outhouse, the record players and VHS tapes, the Polaroid camera, the Milkman, Drive-in theaters, news media and TV news and even Bill Blass fashions, every business has a lifecycle. If you think that your business, your store or your restaurant is immune, think again.
If you don’t advertise at all because “everybody” knows you, then think again. If you only advertise in the Yellow Pages and in the print media, then think again.
Don’t become a casualty
It doesn’t matter if you own the most popular restaurant in town, the trendiest boutique or you are the best Chiropractor or Carpenter, your business is always at risk of newer trends.
Changing behaviors, population shifts, new competition, the Internet and a host of other factors therefore you need to constantly market yourself and/or your business.
The wise business owner will always maintain and even increase their Marketing efforts. Traditional Marketing such as placing ads in newspapers, magazines, radio and TV is expensive and the reach of those Medias is on the decline.
However there is some good news: the future belongs to those who capitalize on emerging trends, changing behaviors and learn to adapt to the market and Marketing does not have to be an expensive endeavor.
What
is Marketing? According to John Jantsch from Duct Tape Marketing: Marketing is "getting people who have a specific need or problem to know, like, trust, do business with and refer you to others who have this same need or problem.” Read that definition a few times…
Why market on the Internet, I’m a local business?
When searching for professionals, they want to get testimonials, they want to compare capabilities and find out about the proximity of the offices.
A Website for your Business
EasyLocalShopping.com creates a website for you called an “Action Page” with its own web address. The “Action Page” provides you with many Marketing tools that will assist you in achieving higher traffic and increased sales.
Your “Action Page” will help your prospects get to know, like and trust you because of the relevant and valuable information you provide. As such, your clients will continue to do business with you and also refer others to you.
A virtual tour allows the viewer to get a 3-dimensional representation of a location. It gives the sensation of being there, of being in a familiar place. As consumers, we all like to frequent establishments that are familiar to us. Therefore your virtual tour will attract new business.
